Hailing from New York's Hudson Valley, the versatile Shovel Ready String Band performs heartfelt original songs alongside up-tempo fiddle tunes, country blues, bluegrass, and traditional ballads of love and loss. Featuring tight vocal harmonies and polished arrangements, the band has appeared at many fine local venues including Daryl's House, the Towne Crier, the Common Ground Coffee House and the Pleasantville Music Festival.

The band's second album, Dig a Little Deeper, delivers a rich trove of original songs, ranging from haunting reflections on family histories, to incisive takes on current social issues and wry observations on the tribulations of daily life.
